Selling My Art Locally in the Upstate NY Area
Artist Victoria Yeldon
I have started to venture out of my house to sell here in Syracuse.
Where are you selling Locally?
Along with advertising a local show i help organize, i also set-up to sell at my first fair last weekend at the Syracuse Family Times Summer Fun & Camp Fair. Even though the event was not geared for shoppers, I still made a few of my first sales as an original watercolor artist. I even received an online sale later from someone who grabbed a card at the event.
Below is my first display made of stacking metal cube shelves for my beach bags and cubicle walls to display my hanging wood prints. I have a few ideas to change things up for my next show.

Next I will be at the Town of Clay Gooseberry Trash & Treasure Fair, April 29th. It's an outdoor event with music, kids activities and tons of vendors signed up. I'm sure it will be a fun event and i am hopeful it will yield good sales.

For May i have signed up for the North Syracuse Family Festival, May 27th. The Outdoor event is in my local village and i have been to it in the past with my boys. The Festival houses tons of free activities for kids, local crafters & businesses, as well as live music and performances. Crossing my fingers it will be a huge success.
Where am I in my goal to become an Abundant Artist?
I have successfully created over 100 different items listed on my Etsy shop, yeilding a couple sales a week online. I finished my first Gallery show with a mention in the local Syracuse Times. I am starting to sell locally at shows and looking into consignment opportunities.
These may seem like small successes but this time last year i hadn't even painted in over 8 years, and now i feel like I can call myself an artist.
